That's great! I will never forget my son's first fish at age 3. He is now 18 and is my favorite fishing partner. In fact, I still enjoy watching him land a fish! You will never forget that day!emoToast

MADD DOG - 4/9/2007 6:55 PM I took my son fishing for the first time the other day and he had a ball. He caught several fish, which kept his attention, but pitched a fit when he missed one. I did have to cast for him because he's only two and a half, but for the reeling in part he did it all. I was a proud dad when he caught his first fish, he even jerked good when I told him to. All fish were caught on a Superman rod and reel with a chart squirmin squirt in a pond.

That Superman rod may be good, but it just doesn't compare to the "SpongeBob Squarepants" Model.

That's awesome!!! You start em fishing at that age and they'll fish for life...I was about his age when I caught my first fish and I've been addicted since - and that's the best kind of addiction! Congrats and tell him it's alright, we all pitch a fit when we miss one :)

Kids are what its about. One of my grand daughters last year(than 7th grade) while fishing from my toon caught her first gill. As soon as she got it to the boat she screamed, through the rod down and ran to the back of the boat. I hope she got most of that from the other side of the family.emoBigsmile

He catches fish bigger than you do! Any big bass pics from Florida? What's the deal?
