emoThumbsup I must agree!

popeyedpete - 9/9/2009 7:27 PM Doc1, you have the right and even an obligation as a US citizen to stand up and be heard. I will always support this right with my life and hope that open debate will lead to some sort of common sense plan to get this country back on solid footing. If you strongly feel with all your heart and mind that Obama is right then that is a wonderful thing and you should support his efforts 100%. (with your time and your money.)

I guarantee you one thing none of the names mentioned intentionally meant to mistreat you. You are looking for things which are not there! I hate you feel that wayand I hate you are teaching your kids this BS!!!!!!!! outcaster - 9/9/2009 6:39 AMI never mentioned names, you did. We both know what the truth is and what went on there, despite your big red letters attempting to save face. And yes, there were a couple of those people you mentioned that stopped and looked at the "Obama: sticker and said a few whispers to each other. Even though the boys had a pretty good sack of fish, I cautioned them that even thought we had done pretty well, someone else may have done better, and we would congratulate the winners no matter the outcome. And you're right, the money was handed out, a picture was taken, and results posted. But not one of those adults, came over to those boys or me and even said "nice job". Pretty poor sportsmanship from adults at a Kids event. In the above post, I was making the point that sometimes ones political/religious views can cause some to treat other differently or not associate with them at all. It shouldn't be that way, but it is. So don't lecture me! Take a look at yourself!JSV - 9/9/2009 10:53 AM

My oldest boy commented on the way home that should have drove the other vehicle to the weight in. .

I know most everyone which fished the CRACKERFEST and know them quite well! NONE OF US ALLINATED YOU CAUSE OF A STICKER ON YOUR CAR! IT IS MY BELIEF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WAS TREATED JUST AS ALL THE OTHER PARTICIPANTS AND FORMAL WINNERS! We may not put as much emphasis on the winningsack of fish as Bass Tx.'s do and thus you felt you should have been recognized more but this is because this is a kid’s event! This event had nothing to do with the election! That day was for the kids to have fun and each walk away a winner! I am sorry you felt miss treated but it is my belief you are emphasizing the wrong thing and then blamed politics and teaching kids to use politics. You should have brought this up a long time ago if you felt mistreated! I for one had NO IDEA what political party you had attached to your name. When you signed up I didn't write down OUTCAST and Family / DEMOCRATS!Nor did I know you had an Obama sticker on your car. That still would not have made any difference that day! The day was focused on the kids and fishing not politics!I am sorry you feel that way and used (blamed)your political view on the way you thought you should have been treated however it is my belief you were treated just as all the other participants, if not better. You were called up congradulated for winning, given cash money and a picture taken. Then the kids were called back up to pick a prize as their names were called out!

Don’t use CFF and Crackerfest as a scapegoat for your political views and agenda! CRACKERFEST is focused on kids not politics! Once again……CRACKERFEST is a fun day out for the kids with no discrimination of color, religion or political views. Your way off base!!

You have basically called out and said "JSV, BBASS, TNDOE, DOGHOUSE, CHURLY, FLUKE, RATMAN as well as others:raciest, bigots and discrimatory"!

I for one take major offense to this and I also know the ones mentioned above are not what you have tried to make us out to be!

Call me crazy, but shouldn't people vote on the promises that certain politicians "say" they will make concerning certain issues that our country faces. "Republican" and "Democrat" at different points in our nations history have meant different things depending on what era you are talking about. When the Republican party was formed their first nominee for president was a man by the last name of Lincoln. His name did not even appear on a ballot in the state of Georgia in 1860, but now the state of Georgia traditionally votes Republican. If you look closely this standard is changing once again. You could call the two parties "purple" and "pink" for all it matters and it should not matter. Those labels were intended to get votes by the people that created them. A vast majority of Americans are uneducated on the issues that face the country and so the political party makes it easier for a big majority to decide whom to vote for without doing any research on the issues that particular politicians promote. I am not publicly promoting anyone, but during and after the Great Depression Roosevelt took control of many different aspects of Americans lives and it worked, nobody can argue that or we may not be sitting here having this discussion today. Government control scares me just as much as the next person, but sometimes it is necessary. I do not know as much as I should but, in a way I support some of the bailouts. If they had not been done imagine what the unemployment rate due to the auto industry alone would have done to the economy alone. If you lose your job you have no money, you spend no money, store makes no money, store owner spends no money, etc. It is a snowball effect. Just my 2 cents. PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! emoUSA
I agree with you to a point. Both Parties do more to separate the country than they do to bring it together. they both seem more intent on what's good for the party than what's good for the country.
Where I disagree is, I believe President Roosevelt's policies were more of a band aid rather than a fix of the economy. What really worked towards getting the US out of the depression, was WWII. There's plenty of arguments about whether or not he intentionally got us into WWII, but that's a topic for another thread.
