I have a yamaha 225 hp. Went fishing last night and while running full throttle, the motor lost power and died. Tried to start back and nothing but a click. Battery fully charged and even tried jumping it. Pulled plugs this morning and 1 plug covered with metal shavings. Even found some in exhaust. The motor is definitely seized up. I have no idea what caused it.. I need it fixed asap. I need a name and phone # of a good engine rebuilder. I know it can't be fixed in a day buy I don't want it to take a year.. I'm already going to miss the night cba and it's killing me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Was it a 4 or 2 stroke? Did you run ring free in the engine? I know, I'm not helping you get it fixed but maybe can help figure out why. so it doesn't happen again or to someone else.

I've heard it said that a two stroke engine is a bomb waiting to explode. Pulling back on the throttle some is about the only way to prolong the explosion.

Contact me asap about rebuilding it for you. Maybe you can bring it in to my shop in the morning. PM me here. Thanks.

A big reason why I don't run much over 40 mph 99 percent of the time. I would be reduced to trolling motor only trash if mine popped.

Several years ago my Evinrude did the same. Detonated a cylinder. Was about three months out of warranty. No help from Evinrude. Repairs were expensive about half the cost of a new engine with very limited warranty. Bought a new motor instead.
