I am looking at possibly purchasing 2 Sportsman series power poles. I was told that they're cheaper made and will not hold a fiberglass boat as good as the next series up. I have a 1991 boat so I'm not going to invest a lot and I could care less what they look like. As long as they hold me in position. Does anyone have these on a fiberglass boat? My boat is a 295 Stratos so it's 19 and a half foot long

Lamar, they will hold just fine ,some of the difference of poles was spike size, diameter if you will, the sportsman is designed for boats up to 28 foot or 4850 pounds . They will hold.the u channel isn't as small or as streamlined as the blade, but now has a five coat powder coat finish instead of anodized finish. They don't have soft close so sometimes on high retract youay hear a slap where the spike at the bottom the unit bumps on high. Nothing to worry about. If you have any questions on them shout,I have been trained by the guys at power pole and have worked with them for about 6 or 7 years now. For the money ,an Excellent choice

I have the cheapest version. Whichever that is and only have one. It works perfectly and holds my glass boat just fine. Although two would be better since the nose of the boat still drifts around.

I have the 8' Series II. They hold my 20' fiberglass Triton very well. I love them. Additionally, the customer service is GREAT.
