About three weeks ago blew my motor up again. That makes three times in the last 18 months. I have decided to bite the bullet and drop some major cash for a new motor with a warranty. I have narrowed this down to two motors. Either the Merc Optimax 225 and the Evinrude e-tec 225. Both are currently running promotions thru the end of the month and offer 5 years warranty and both are about the same price give or take 100 bucks. I have not run either motor and have heard pros and cons on both. I would like to know your opinion on this topic. These promotions run out at the end of the month therefore I need to act quickly. I have looked at the Yamahas but they are just giving three years on the warranties and are a little higher priced than the Optimax and the e-tec.
