Need Transducer Help and Installation. Anyone good at this?

I have a offshore Proline 26 Sport. just purchased a Garmin 4208 package with sounder box, radar, etc. Trouble is I need a Transducer to go with this and thinking about mounting a transom mount 1 kw transducer. It would probably bet better to have a thru hull mounted, but really nervous about drilling a hole thru the hull. Also on these they have different degrees of transducer (18, 20, etc.). Not sure how to determine which I will need. Transom mount will be the easiest. Running wires to the Center console will be a little tricky. Anyway if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. i live in Cleveland near Harrison.

No need to drill with the thru the hull installation, just epoxy to the hull but be sure there are no bubbles.

No need to drill holes with a transom mount either: Just epoxy the transducer bracket to the transom...I have done several like this with no issues (or worries about rotten transom)
