i just bought a 89 procraft it has an older larance depth/fish finder im looking for a decent one that want break the bank and im also wondering about lures i ve been on the water a few time this year and havent caught a single bass try a bunch of lures but no bite or any thing just wondering if there advice yall can give me that maby will help me pull a few fish in the boat cause eventually i wanna fish tourements thanks
 
Ive tried crank baits a few jigs and ive also tried shaky heads i really dont know the of the ones i tried cause im new to the whole bass fishing
 
It's hard to beat a rattle bait this time of year. I like Xcalibur XR50 or XR25 in Royal Shad or Ghost colors.

As far as a fishfinder goes, if you're new to the game one of the downscan units would work well. It takes some of the guesswork out of it. I'm not sure how much you're wanting to spend though. The Lowrance Mark-5X DSI runs about $300.

slow down, and when you think you're going slow enough, slow down more. It's not uncommon for a bait to sit suspended for a minute at a time between movements. If you're trying to burn a rooster tail through the water you'll probably be disappointed.

However, now that the water temperature has broken 50-degrees things are speeding up a little. Just try varied retrieves. The fish will let you know what they want.
