New Blue cat record in GA

This was actually posted about two months ago here, and the question was brought up wether it should count. I say the fish was placed in the pond from TN maybe, or AL? So NO I do not think it should count. Just my .02 </p>

My issue with a pond-fish record is that ponds are usually private. The size of the water body is not an issue to me. Its the fact that the fish could have been intentionally feed and grown to be a record, then starved so that it could be caught easily. A state should only recognize records achieved on public waters, this will avoid confusion. A state has an interest in promoting its fisheries because it brings in money from related sales, and sales taxes and license revenue. No body is truely interested in a potential big catch if the owner of that water is the only person with access to the water.

Hey, that was my plan... put a decent size bass in a small pond/aqaurium and feed it crazy for several years then fish for it.

Guys all fish in ponds are placed there. Many are offspring of fish that were placed there. All states have records of fish that were caught in ponds. Whenever there is a fish submitted for a record I believe it is investigated to find out if it was legitimate. This blue cat as far as I know has not been certified. This story started back last year and nothing has come out of it yet.
