Thanks for the reply cheez, I like the .308 also, until the .338 L came along the good 'ol .308 was by most experts the most ballistically perfect projectile and they are still arguing over it. Once you get her broke in good if you are going to use it exclusively for long range shots stay with the heavier projectiles, they are more stable at long flights and the wind has less effect on them and try to pick a longer bullet with a boat tail, the only drawback to the heavier bullet is a few more clicks on the elev. knob. I have been telling people for years that every rifle is different in which ammo it likes, go with what works the best and dont practice with the cheap stuff and then expect the same shot placement, practice with what you are going to hunt with. I really enjoy my civilian version of the g-3 it was designed for a general purpose battle weapon but it is a lot more robust and accurate than most anything off the shelf.
