Thanks and happy fishing emoFish

emoWelcome emoWelcome welcome Pat to our family, what area are you gonna be fishing and launching from? let me know and will PM you some info to get ya started!!

well if you in that neck of woods. i would use wolftever boat ramp of 58 hwy and just start in the creek but be careful in the summer in there have bout got run over a few times but it is a good creek to fish.would use alot of soft plastic.and as it warms up move out to the bay go looking for folks fishing in the middle and after they leave motor over there and see what they fishing that is what most the folks do around here.alot of humps and creeks and ditchs out there and hold alot of fish.hope this helps and good luck...and post us to let us know how you did. :)

Pick up a lake map soon and look for shallow areas next to deep water. The bigger fish have already started moving up and soon it will be a flood. There are many people on here that will help you and your husband all they can. On behalf of the other Moderators...Welcome to the forum.

How little is little? I fished for the first couple yrs. out of a 12 ft boat and a trolling motor.
The lake maps are real good advice because you can be 1/4 mi. from shore and be in a foot of water ( with stumps)
Just read the posts, learn the lures you are reading about and have a ball! You've moved to one of the best areas in the country for fishing.
Good to have you!

Welcome - I moved from Colo. June 2006.

Be very careful on Chickamagua when the water is low - get a good lake map or Navionics!

welcome aboard. We have several places close to you to launch from. Wolf Tever as they have mentioned right off 58 hwy and just above it is Harrison Bay State Park and Skull Island is above that. Then you have Chickamauga Dam and the River Park. Chester Frost Park is nice as well and it's located in the Hixson/Middle Valley area on the other side of the river. I would definately recommend a topography or lake map or a gps unit with mapping on it. Chickamauga is a great lake but it can be difficult to navigate when water levels get low. Be safe out there and welcome to our forum and state.
