Welcome to Chattanooga
Well Trout fishing is to be had within 45 mins of Chattanooga, Hiwasee River, Telico River and many more in that area .. but thats one of the great things about living in Chattanooga area .. your with a few hours of just about any thing that swims in water.. the only thing I havent found near Chattanooga is Northern Pike.. There are Musky near Pikeville, TN and in the North Eastern part of the state.
Smallmouth and Largemouth abound here in Chattanooga, but Kentucky Spotted Bass and Largemouth are King in the lakes in and around Chattanooga Chickamauga, Nickajack , Watts Barr, Parksville Lake, and Just 60 miles away you have Guntersville Lake.. huge bass in that lake. Though all the local lakes regularly Produce Largemouth in the 5-10lb range some lakes even see many 11-15lb bass every year caught.
Ive lived in Chattanooga 22 yrs and have fished just a small portion of what we have here close by .. the lakes are big .. but dont look at the whole lake and get boggled by its size.. just fish one area or section at a time .. every area of Chickamauga has bass in it .. one good thing about this lake Bass are plentiful .. and this time of year shallow is where the fish are .. some get so shallow the water barely covers their backs when feeding.. the most productive areas are creek channels that border flats.. bass move in to the shallows to feed and look for spawning grounds.. and fall back into the deeper creeks during cold fronts etc
Their is lots of good info on here and lots of folks willing to help.
So welcome to Chattanooga and the Forum !
