Hit the water around 2:00. Put in at shellmound & ran to Alabama slough. Fished up the rip rap with a brown hair jig & got 1 bite in the whole thing. Ran up river to a flat with dead grass, in about 6-12ft of water throwin a suspinding jerk bait got 2 fish best one was 18 inch. right at 3.5lbs Fished some more deep rip rap with one more fat little 16&1/2 inch bass on brown hair jig with zoom chunk. Saw some birds & eating bait on top right at dark. But could not get any takers 12-6ft. right off of river channel. Water seemed cloudy & the birds that I saw eating bait were just pickin one up here & there, nothing major.
