Nickajack Bass 4-13-07

Friday the 13th turned out to be kind of lucky. Started at 6:30 AM CST out of Marion County Park and fished until 2:00. I caught 17 bass with only 4 being keepers. The largest was about 2.5lbs. The non keepers were in the 13 to 14.75 inch length. I caught most on crank baits and spinner baits with a few on jigs and baby brush hogs. All the fish came from 4 to 7 feet deep. The water temp was 59 to 61 degrees. I searched shallow water but no luck.

For you crappie fisherman, I caught a slab crappie in about 12 feet of water on a deep diver crank bait.

Sounds like you had a great day for bad luck. Had to sit home because I have a broke steering cable on my trolling motor. Hope to get it fixed 1st of the week and be back on the water.
