Hate the winters and hate the taxes but LOVE the fishing.
Born and raised in Newburgh, NY. Fished since I caught my first sunfish using a bobber at age 7(?)
Stopped using live bait in 1970 after catching fish on a tail spin named Little George. Started making my own lures over fifteen years ago, and expanded from making just hair jigs to soft plastics, jigs, spinnerbaits, spinners and modifying lures. I came up with a design of soft plastic minnow (thus my user name) that catches seven species of fish.
Used to concentrate on bass, but like numbers and there are no better numbers of fish caught than fishing for pan fish. Occasionally I'll target bass, but get a thrill when a one pound crappie is bending my light action rod or after a 14" perch just slammed my soft plastic minnow! Catch as many fish from my small aluminum boat as from my bass boat (which will be for sale, cheap.)
Like to share with fellow anglers, though I have gotten into trouble on some forums with those that are experts in their own minds and insist they always know what fishing is all about. I think outside the box and observe everything every time I go fishing. I learn from partners that may not be as experienced, but catching speaks louder than words.
Hope I can offer some suggestions that may be of use and share my experiences - some of which will contain technical data you may find of value. I get a bit wordy, so of you lose interest, I won't hold it against you. emoLaugh
