Like I've said before, I have hired and fired before. Retired at present, but I'm going to open another company soon, I HOPE, and I will be hiring again.
MY experience and some facts: I have hired some friends sons, and told, "if they do not work tell me and I'll take care of the situation." NO, I'll take care of it,
"YOU'RE FIRED"!! Best way to loose a frend is to hire his "hard working son." Exception; I hired out some work last month and the guy I hired, I fired in the early 90's.
He is a grow man now and owns his own company.Told me that fireing him was the best thing that happened to him, he grew up. His father & I are friends to this day, but some of the loafers dads are not friends any longer. It embarrassed both dad & son. It's like giving credit/$$ to friends/family..gonna bite u in the azz one day.
A major company that come into town several years back and hired lotsa people, it is running on a skeleton crew now,,,they would NOT work, drugs, lazy and other problems.
A man that needs to work, usually will, a man that has to work, usually will loaf, skylark, sluffoff and does not care. The old joke is; That's why they pay you on Friday instead of Thursday, that way you show up and get paid before the weekend, & don't call in sick.
I cannot hire someone and then have to "pace" them while they work. That's why I hired them!! so I could do more important work.I Alway's pay above min wage.
Most of the time, it is cheaper to work employees overtime, than to put another person on payroll.
My son works 2 jobs, 5-6 days a week, and I'm pretty sure that he will own one of the comapnies one day soon.He got his work ethics from his father.
It's the old saying about the fruit falling not far from the tree and I'm damned proud, so take a look around at the orchard you're working in.
Give me a senior citizen that needs to work, and I'll hire him everytime, it's a matter of work ethics.
