If the fishing sucks on Old Hick, you can always load up and drive 20 min south and fish Percy Priest. Both lakes get pounded daily, being so close to Nashville. I like priest more than OH this time of year too.

Homie452 I sent you a pm. Any of the guys that have fished old hickory have any insight on the lake when it revives rain. As in all the rain we had today will it make the lake muddy and if so how long does it stay muddy on average? Planning on going Friday just don't wanna get there and the lake be blown out from all the rain.

That lake has always had a stain to it. Even in late summer drought it has a "tannic " look to it. The rain just means the river will be moving good and fish will be active on the main river banks.

Ok thanks. Just wanted to make sure we aren't gonna get there and it be shut down. You think the cold front moving in this weekend will affect the bite?

Old hickory is an odd lake, in the summer its cooler than most lakes because of cool water influences from the stones river and the caney fork, but is warmer than surrounding reservoirs in the winter because of the water discharged from the steam plant in Gallatin. I wouldn't let a slight cool front keep me from going, but the change in pressure always affects the fish one way or another. My favorite time to fish is when I am not working despite what Mother Nature does

Live on old hickory, still have a rig bite , and jerk baits are also producing, fish are moving shallow, but the cold weather forecasted for this weekend will knock things in the head for a few days
