If anyone is looking for a good outboard mechanic near Summerville/Trion call Denny Strickland at 706-857-1819. Denny has been working on outboards for last 40 yrs and is certified on all brands.

I am in no way knocking Wrechin2 but he is a little to far away. I have several friends that are supper happy with wrechin and if he were closer I would also use him. Just wanting to give options with gas at $3.50/gallon.

how long does it take him to do a rebuild? reason I ask is wrechen2 has had my friends motor sence october and he still don't know when he will get it back. I think he is about ready to let someone else build his motor.

I told Jason that I was behind and working a full time job that it would be a while. He is not the only one that has been held behind. I have plenty of numbers of people who have been waiting a while. Itake them in and do them in the order that they come in. Apparently you haven't talked to himlately as I have told him (and his dad) it will be two weeks from this past Fridayas I have completed all the others that were in front of him.

wrenchin, Jason told that you are working another job.he also told me you would have his engine built in 4 to 6 weeks back in october. I think most people would understand a man getting behind when he has to work a full time job,but I know of at least one lower unit that was brought to you, taken apart and returned to the owner not too long ago. I don't know you but I am sure you are a nice guy and I know my friend is a nice guy, but I think the right thing would have been for someone to at least call and explain that it was going to take (FIVE) months and give him a chance to come and get it and take it to someone else. I am glad he will have his motor soon .As I said he is a very nice fellow , but no one should have to wait (20 WEEKS)! I just don't like my friends being taken advantage of just because they are nice people.

ED,

The lower unit you speak of was taken off and brought to me at my job. I took it home and pressure tested it and the only taking apart I done was removed the water pump housing. Total job was 5 minutes (3 minute test and 2 minutes to remove and install the water pump housing). Did he also mention it took me 3 days to get toit after he brought it to me and I didn't charge him for the 5 minutes worth of work?

Also remember that Wes works with me on the weekends and he does a LOTwork such carb rebuilds, water pumps, trim motors, ect. Ionly have one milling machine and boring bar so I am in the garagedoing engines and he is outside doing other work 90% of the time.

Just so you don't hear about this and post it, I have been at the boat ramp at Chester Frost 3 times this past week looking at fishinrod's boat. I built the engine on it and it lost power last weekend while he was fishing a TX. I met him at the ramp after work and worked on it. I found a new coil has went down on it. So this has put me 3 evenings behind as well. So Jason can rest assured that if he has a issue I will be there for him even if it means getting behind!

I have spoken to Jason several times about his engine keeping him up to date what was happening with his engine and the ones in front of his engine. At any point he could have came got it. I never said he couldn't come get it. He would have simply owed me for what had been done to it. He has not paid me so it isn't like I have been paid and putting off doing his engine to build another one that I will make money on. I build them in order as they come in and as I stated before all the engines before his took longer than anticipated and that putALL of them further behind not just Jason. When you do as much work to these as I do you are bound to run into setbacks. Just this weekend alone I spend 5 addition hours on Jason's engine that I did not anticipate on.I plan to have it readly Sunday to go on his boat as I have to work Saturday at my regular job.

This is the last post of yours I will respond to. I have not taken advantage of anyone andI don't have to explain myself to anyone other than Jason about Jason's engine. Unless you are Jason you most likely do not know all of the story on when I spoke to him and what was said but you can make your own conclusion. I had planned on doing some extra work on his engine because I have had it for so long but it is clear I needto concentrate on just getting it done and not doing anything extra as it has become such an issue.

UPDATE. Jason's engine is done and was completed on Sunday. After speaking to Jason and getting his reaction about the post on here I decided to do the extra work on his engine anyway as it was not his actions and he should't be the one to suffer for someone elses actions.

Wrechin, I was not trying to hurt you nor your business, like I said if I were closer you would be working on my motor. Even though we have never met I know first hand of the work you do and you strive to make your customers happy.

I was just trying to held a friend, Denny, and nothing else.

Sorry!

There is no problem man. I had 7 boats come this weekend so this post is not hurting me!

I did do extra stuff to make up for the time it took me and the owner of the engine is a very happy camper. I talked to him earlier today. I feel that most people who read this will understand that it was a third party and not the actual owner who was saying something that had no dog in the fight.
