“I have been thinking that I would make a proposition to my Republican friends... that if they will stop telling lies about the Democrats, we will stop telling the truth about them.” Adlai E. Stevenson

Now here is a fine example of a "great American"

Early Chicago liberal. Like modern day rich demonrats he was a blatant hypocrite. Got creamed in the 1952 presidential election by Ike. Too stupid to give up he came back for more and got creamed even worse by Ike again the second go round in 1956. Then got plastered by Kennedy in 1960. Like olbummer though he could talk a good game.

As dumb as it is, let them keep bringing up Bush.......like a magician, while they are distracted, the Correct party will take control of the House and Senate again.

Finally a "thought of the day". thank you. emoHoppingmad

Time will tell. IMO it is not happening at the mid-term elections. The following election cycle after the mid-terms, maybe, but even IF it does happen it will not last past the mid-term again. Reason is the right has yet to come up with a platform, other than to oppose everything that the left proposes. Obstructification is not a viable platform.

Why not bring up Bush, it is more relevant than quotes from when you were in elementary school. emoGeezer

"Obstructification"...NICE!

Google up the word for "the party that aims to do everything opposite of the other party" emoLaugh

As far as I can tell, that all they have done.

Not sure what to apologize for?

Franklin was in the Quaker Party early in his life, but subscribed to no political party through the Revolution and after until his death. That and the Republican Party wasn't founded until 1854, and its predecessor, the Whig Party was founded in 1833.

'I have wondered at times about what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the U.S. Congress..'

-Ronald Reagan

I find this one particular ironic:

"America is a Nation with a mission - and that mission comes from our most basic beliefs. We have no desire to dominate, no ambitions of empire. Our aim is a democratic peace - a peace founded upon the dignity and rights of every man and woman."
George W. Bush

Experience demands that man is the only animal which devours his own kind, for I can apply no milder term to the general prey of the rich on the poor.
Thomas Jefferson

“I hope we shall... crush in its birth the aristocracy of our moneyed corporations, which dare already to challenge our government to a trial of strength and to bid defiance to the laws of our country.”
~Thomas Jefferson
