The site is fine the way it is. David, you could charge a membership fee. I can't imagine the pain of the running this thing or cost. Even with sponsorship, we'd be willing to donate a few bucks to help out.

I think it comes down to being respectful to each other. Us catfish guys usually have plenty of space to share with each other and it really isn't a big deal if someone is on a hole. Now when it comes to tournaments and things like that, that's where the tension can be running high. I can't necessarily blame a person for running to a spot he or she knows is good, especially if money is on the line.
I'm usually pretty open about my fishing, but I guess there's not much to hide if I'm fishing from the bank. Now if I'm out on a guide trip and it's been requested I keep a few things to myself, I will do that. I don't want to hurt someone's guide business. Some examples would be RSIMMS and SOUTHERNCATS. I will only post what those guys are comfortable with me posting.

Whatever your opinions are, this place has opened up a lot to me. It provides me a mental escape from work. It gives me info and ideas about fishing. I have been out numerous times with members. This has got to be the best forum out there.

Thanks guys. There is no need to ever charge any membership fees. CFF is a labor of love and has never been about making money. Cost is not an issue and if this was a business venture it would have failed long ago...It would take many, many years for this site to break even on the initial programming investment alone :) I am just as addicted as anyone else and happy to keep it online so long as I have the time and remain convinced its a good thing for area anglers.

I guess I worry too much and just want to be sure it has a positive perception, so I need to check other opinions to validate my own concerns . My personal thinking is that a broad conservational message will always outweigh any negative impacts of a crowded ramp when the fishing is hot somewhere, but I still plan to keep the options open in the future. :) EricM makes some great points as well regarding PMs. I never want to discourage good information on patterns, lures, and conditions in reports and I think general locations are fine.

First off, I think TT might have taken offence to my statement that "if you're not posting 2-3 reports per month, you ain't fishin' 'nuff". My apologies, TT. That did not come out right. Posting reports has nothing to do with it. I meant that if you're not getting out that often, you should! I think you'll agree that you wish you could go fishing more often.

My vote was to give members a reason to register. I'm sure increased membership would mean something to the CFF sponsors. I would not agree with excluding ANY members, especially one who has contributed as much to this group as you have.

I just wanted to make sure that I did not offend you...hope you read this...I almost sent it via PM, but wanted it out here for all to see.
