Fished for a few hours with rsimms yesterday. He picked me up at my dock as my boat is in the shop. He wanted to learn to dock shoot better and he had 5 foot rods to do it with. I asked if he had other rods that we could use and the only other rods that he had were his 8 foot trolling rods and I figured they would be better than using the shorties. The 8 footers worked fine as long as we stayed back away from the docks. Ended up with (oops)32 keepers in live well and threw many 10 inchers back without putting them in the well once we figured that we were close to 30. Most fish were at around a 6 count but as deep as a 10 count. I was really surprised that there were so many good keepers on the docks, seems like with the colder water that the fish went back to more of a winter time pattern. Good to get out with rsimms, it had been a while.

Footnote: The two extras went QUICKLY back in the lake as well!!! Shame on us for not counting better. But it was a great shooting lesson from one of the several "Master Dock Shooters" I know on the lake. I picked up several good tips.

Yup, sorry that I didn't say what we did with the two extras. In fact, I intended to fillet the keepers that we had but when it started to rain I went down to my dock and let all of the fish go to be caught again. Hopefully some will stay close to my dock for a few days.

Really great report!
Wish I was there to shoot some docks but my sweet wife is in the hospital again. Better days ahead.
