KNOXVILLE (WRCB/TFP/WBIR) - A local high school standout, who signed to play for the Tennessee Vols this fall, was arrested overnight at a bar fight in Knoxville. Calhoun's DaRick Rogers was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Rogers was one of the highest rated wide receivers in the country coming out of high school. He decommitted from the University of Georgia to play for Derek Dooley's Vols.
Our NBC affiliate in Knoxville, WBIR-TV, as well as our partners at the Chattanooga Times Free Press first reported the large fight involving several University of Tennessee football players.
The co-owner of a nightclub near the University of Tennessee campus said "seven to 10" Volunteers football players were involved in a fight early Friday morning at the establishment.
UT spokespeople were gathering information on the incident and also weren't ready to comment.
"It was a regular Thursday night. We always give VIP status to the football players," Sandy Morton, owner of Bar Knoxville told WBIR-TV.
"We never had a problem with them in the past. All of a sudden they randomly started beating up a customer, another patron. Security intervened and got it [the fight] outside. They [the football players] proceeded to beat up an off-duty officer that was a customer."

Well, I hope DaRick is still happy with his decision to wear orange. Hey, if the shoe fits.....

This could get ugly...The off-duty cop was knocked unconscious and then repeatedly kicked while knocked out.
