TRUTH???? YOU WOULD NOT KNOW THE TRUTH IF IT FLEW OUT NICK SABANS ASS! all your talk is moronic! from a guy who is a fan of the university that has been punished the most by the NCAA in the history of college sports and about one step from the death penalty!

Honest question for the UT faithful on here....

Are you not disgusted with the lack of discipline in Knoxville? You would think after the 3 stooges hit up the local Quickie Mart that these idiots on the BBall team would have just a tiny little bit of an idea in their head that they were in the wrong....

I am not happy with it,but you see the same thing going on at every school at sometimes or another.Ala,Ga,Lsu,Auburn and all sec teams have had discipline problems. When you go out and recruit these players you dont know exactly what you are getting, the most important thing is how a school handles these individuals, and i am happy with how UT has handled these situations.</p>

Not arguing that Blazer. Im a UGA fan and Lord knows we have had our discipline troubles. But in recent years UGA players are getting in trouble for driving without a license, or riding a scooter the wrong way down a one way street......doesn't really compare to attempted armed robbery, possession of an altered handgun, possession of drugs, etc...

There are discipline problems....and then there are character problems. I think UT is flooded with the latter right now. And Lane Kiffen is loving every minute of it. He gets his jollies on being a "cool" or "hip" coach. And frankly, it will bring in the wrong type of players. Just my honest opinion.

wow lane is so good that he is recruiting basketball players too! haha just ribbing you XLDVEE

Oh I know, but looking at this from an unbiased view, this has to put a damper on recruiting, no matter which sport these athletes compete in. First the stuff with the football team and now this. You have to say that parents would be apprehensive to send their kids off to play in Knoxville. I'm trying not to look through my red glasses on this. Yes, I love UGA and dislike UT...but that's just the way I think I would see it if I was a Vol fan. Not trying to stir the pot here.

But having said that, ol Lane still has a pretty stout class coming in this year. Do you guys think you will have any kids flip-flop before signing day in a month? I know all teams lose some and gain some every year, but I just can't buy the "any publicity is good publicity" idea, which is what Kiffen seems to think, or at least that's what he stated at the beginning of last year

Of course there are discipline problems at every school. Especially in the SEC. The "textbook scandal" that happened at Alabama happens at every school. I know because I know one of the lineman who got in trouble. I asked a friend of mine who ran track at Louisville and she said it happens all the time both at Louisville and every other school in the country.

Cases like that are not a matter of who is doing what wrong, they are a matter of who gets caught for it first. After they get caught, everyone stops doing that at every other school.

Another good example is TN with the Vol Pride girls. Every school has female escorts for the recruits that are probably doing things illegal in terms of recruiting. However, TN got caught for it. You better believe that every other school doing this took notes and cut down what they were doing with those girls to make sure they didn't get in trouble at their school.

There will always be players doing things like getting in trouble for drinking and stuff like that. Every college student does that stuff. However, there is a huge difference between those type discipline problems and ones that involve guns and weed. Those are major problems that simply can not be tolerated at any point by any major program in the country.

In all fairness to the Vols. The NCAA banned the head coach from recruiting visits in the spring evaluation period. This made it very difficult to evaluate character. Most coaches used this time to meet with principals and guidance counselors to learn about the prospect. Add in the fact that TN. recruits nationally, making it even harder to evaluate character.(This was secret witness now I'm scared to travel to Birmingham for media day Fulmer's problem)

In all truthfullness to Lane Kiffin. Concerning the recruiting of Markeith Ambles, who is one of the top three receivers in the country if not the best. MA could have went any where he wanted to based on talent.(an A.J. Green type player) UG recruited him but did not offer because of character concerns and USC, Bama, AU, UF, etc. pulled back on recruiting him. Coach O then makes this statement " we are not angles and we are not going to recruit angles". Three days later Markeith Ambles commits to the Vols.

Character is not a concern of Kiffin.

Now the AD has been left with no option but to handle discipline! GOOD JOB MIKE HAMMILTON! it's about time.

Once again spoon,,, i find it funny that a guy who is a fan of the most punished school is the land has so much to say about "disipline." I think it is funny that any kid that turns down Al for TN has character problems!

And I still don't understand why anyone recruit "angles"!!! Other than speaking the geometrical terms, what the hell is an angle?

These two things jump out at me about Ambles....

Needs Improvement: He needs to stay focused on every rep and prove he wants to be great. Ambles will make a difficult catch look easy and an easy catch look impossible

Conclusion: It is really all up to him. He can be as good as he wants, or as bad as his effort level and attitude allows him to be. If he stays focused on being the best, then he should become an All-America candidate.

Almost sounds like he has problems with drive and focus....but that can be drilled out of them
