Help Support Chattanooga Fishing Forum:

I would like to ask if anyone out there has a trolling motor mounted on a 24ft pontoon boat.

I am thinking of doing most of my fishing from this boat and also of mounting another fish finder on the front.

Also what you think of mounting the transducer on the trolling motor verses elsewhere. thanks for your ideas and input.

I took out my grandads 18ft bass buggy last summer and it did well as far as how it maneuvers, but the wind started to pick up and it became a sail. I forgot what lbs of thrust it was, but it wasn't that big.

Today hopefully I will have the bait well installed and plumbed, searched for aerators finally decided on one I liked, was looking to have a fresh water inlet without buying another pump, could not find that kind of system, so opted for simple, may have to use a bucket to fill. UNLESS YOU HAVE A IDEA, if anyone has a any hints or tips on aerators feel free to share them with me. will post pictures later.

Thanks JC

James, my buddy just put the W75 on his monster pontoon boat, and loves it. It will pull over 3 MPH on high speed, and for a 24' windsail, thats is smokin! Built-in transducer so you dont have to worry about additional wires makes it really slick. If you are like me, and when you have other folks fishing with you, you wont be standing at the t-motor, but rather running around the boat getting bait, hooks, netting fish, taking pics , the wireless remote or foot pedal is a feature you wont know how you lived without. Here is the link to the specs. http://sites.mercurymarine.com/portal/page?_pageid=125,56450&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL

Its been fun sharing the progress of the pontoon boat everything has been done on a tight budget and using materials that i already had and also things that I picked up from some of you on the forum, some of you have given me great ideas and i thank you for that, here is a couple of more pictures. the seats were refurbished from another P-boat I stripped the vinyl of strengthened them up and added carpet, the live well is completed and works fine. Now its on to the next boat.

Thanks to all my new friends

It was good to get a few minutes to talk with you yesterday and check out the Stratus. The transom looks and feels strong now and the boat has cleaned up nice. Now get on the water and catch some fish ! emoThumbsup
