Anyone ever had a prop replaced after they slung a blade? I am real careful and I trim my motor up when I am in shallow water. I don't hot rod my boat, but I have had 3 props sling blades!!! Not cheap ones either. Every one had zero dings, and all happened in 40 or more feet of water. Did not hit anything either. Just wondering.

Yeah I have slung 2 myself. Yamaha made the first one up. It wasn’t easy an took over a year. The 2nd one I’m still trying to get replaced.

yamaha prop? i had that happen a couple of times with yamaha props years ago. made the switch to mercury and mercury props and cant remember slinging a blade on them.

i was told years ago, that breaking, cracking and slinging blades is largely due to blowing out and hooking up when putting the boat on pad, has to do with the flexing of the baldes under torque. so im VERY mindful of this and maybe thats why i havent had a prop issue in over 10yrs. i'll sling one tomorrow just for saying that.........LOL!!!!
