Question about value of boat.

I was wondering if there was some kind of blue book that will tell me value of my boat. I am very serious about purchasing a new one, have no clue what I should ask or look to ask for it. It is a 2001 javelin with 150 Johnson. Has been garaged kept and interior is perfect. Should I just go top dealer and see what they will offer on trade. I'm just really confused on where to start. Nothing at all wrong with boat, just looking to upgrade to maybe a ranger. Any thoughts?

Nada has a boat pricing guide. As this has a 150 I am going to guess that it is a Venom 18 or Renegade 19. If its the venom, average retail is about $6500 and if you have good or newer electronics on it than you will want to factor in the cost of those units. If its the Renegade 19 the average retail is $9000 with a 175 on it. This pricing of course includes the trailer and motor with the the max horsepower the boat is rated for. The 19 is rated for a 175hp but it may not affect the value any.

I would think you could make more money selling it private party as opposed to using it as trade. The dealer will want to make something off your boat so they probably won't give you what the boat is worth.
