I have a 96 model ranger and wonder if anyone knows whether the gas tank is vented thru the gas cap or if it has another vent. I have a problem with the gas overflowing out of the tank when the temperature gets hot outside. I dont try to over fill the tank when I pump gas in. It is like the vent is clogged and the pressure pushes the gass out. I would appreciate any feed back.

It has a vent tube that runs to under the hood and attaches to a round canister filter packed with charcoal...Is an EPA thing.

It actually called a "charcoal canister filter"

If that is clogged or the tubes leading up to it" it could cause pressure resulting in your problem...however it is pretty unlikely.
