RANGER STRATOS (GENMAR) FULL BANKRUPTCY

I JUST READ ON BASSFAN THAT IRWIN JACOBS HAS CHOSEN TO FILE FULL BANKRUPTCY AND SELL OFF ALL ASSETS SAD DAY FOR THE BOATING INDUSTRY AND SOME POPULAR BOAT LINES AND MAYBE EVEN THE FLW TRAIL . JACOBS SAYS HE IS EVEN A BIDDER FOR THE COMPANY, WE WILL JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE WHO BUYS WHAT LINES AND WHAT HAPPENS TO THE WARRANTIES. IT IS ALSO POSTED ON TRADE ONLY MARINE WEB SITE, SEEMS LIKE GENMAR COULD NOT GET FINANCING AND SOME OF THE CREDITORS WOULD NOT TAKE THE REDUCED OFFER FOR WHAT THEY WERE OWED.

So far the only confirmed line that Jacobs, if he gets it or not, that will not re-open will be Larson.

Jacobs has a good chance on pulling this off too.

The industry also feels that if Genmar is bought out, all warranties will be upheld. Back in June, the bankrupcy courts did OK Genmar to carry on with warranties and rebates. It will be just plain STUPID for the new owners (s) to not uphold that.

Stratos and Ranger will survive. Champion may not.
