Recessed trolling motor tray??

I am going to install a tray on my aluminum boat and it looks like I will have to cut a section of a brace out. Has anyone ever had a problem with it making the deck flimsy or added another support?

ive installed a few of them on fiberglass boats and have had to cut a supports on a couple of them but never noticed any changes in deck strength.
