Hello, this is my first post. I have been reading and watching for a long time.

I am planning a family trip to Reelfoot to do some Crappie and Bass fishing. Has any one been lately, or know where I can read good information to plan the trip?

Also planning a trip to Center Hill. I have been able to find good info. and maps here in Chattanooga but wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

I fish from a 16' Fisher with a 40 Mariner. Just built a casting deck. I am proud of my deck and wanted to share!

Thanks for any help. I look forward to seeing some of you here on Chickamauga and the Chattanooga area. Nice to finally talk to you all!

I don't know anything about reelfoot but to fish the cypree trees. If you are going bass fishing on Center hill. Then I can tell you about a couple of place to go.

Center Hill is a beautiful lake. I have seen it but never fished it. I want to very badly, so if you find some info on the place, Please share. I saw a fishing show on TV where the guys were running upstream in the upper Caney-fork to the current areas and were catching huge white bass. Good luck and enjoy your new fishing deck. Take your digital and post some pic for us.

Welcome to CFF. Glad you finally jumped in with the rest of us.emoSmile

just be careful on reelfoot its shallow and filled with stumps you can try next to the park there are some decent areas over that wav and a couple that i fished ap at the top part of the lake around some of the permant duck blind if the fish are shallow enough but all in all well worth the trip even not to catch any thing that lake is awsome essplically during winter

Just got back from Center Hill last Saturday after two days up there - pretty slow fishing - almost nonexistant fishing during the daytime and I'm not much on night fishing. Did find one thing though that might help - Tube baits - watermelon flake tossed around wood would get you an occasional smallie or a Kentucky. Early and late best. I think the lake is so beautiful I love to go just because of that. Try a topwater bait early too as I understand (NOW they tell me!) they are hitting those - tried a buzzer early - the only topwater I tried - but got no takers. Everyplace looks good but the most predominant shoreline cover that holds some fish right now are blowdowns along medium to fairly steep banks, off of rock. ANd right at the shoreline.

You may not read this in time, but from May on through the summer most fisherman fish way too shallow on the "Hill". Try depths down to 30ft with heavy jigs, c-rigs, and heavy tubes. Good luck and please leave us a report.

As for Reelfoot you cant fish shallow enough;)
