2010 looking alot like 1994. What is the new Republican platform? Do the Republicans have a platform? Is this the start of Contract with America part II? Last time Republicans took control of both Houses, Clinton won in a landslide over Bob Dole in 1996. Will history repeat itself? Other than abortion and guns what is it? Just curious!

Honestly, I look for the Republican party to good in the House and Senate.... We are lacking balance right now, and it dosen't look like the Democratic Party are doing good enough job to hold majority.... If you remember, Bill Clinton did great job working with the Republicans back in the 90's.... This might hold true now... Who will be the Republican candidate for presidency in the 2012 election???? Please take Sarah Palin out of the hunt for it....

Boston (CNN) - Martha Coakley's top pollster Celinda Lake has a warning for Democrats, insisting that tonight's loss is part of an anti-incumbent fever that threatens to take down Democrats across the nation.

"There's a wave here. The first shore was New Jersey and Virginia," Lake told CNN Tuesday, referring to Democratic losses in the governor's races in New Jersey and Virginia. "The second was Massachusetts, and it's coming to the island now, so we'd better do something about it."

She added: "We need to understand that angry voters are the ones turning out to vote.

You are right after 1995 when Congress and Clinton could not reach a budget aggreement resulting in government shutting down, they had a much better working relationship. If you remember Republicans thought they could pretty much go in and do what they wanted and it backfired. You would think no matter be Republican or Democrat Americans do not like a whole lot of change. What was Obama thinking, he had enough problems with war, debt, and recession to take on health care? You would think he would have learned from Clintons mistakes. Maybe he will? If you will remember Clinton came in under a recession, during his first 100 days, pushing for gays in military and health care reform. Are you kidding me? I know all I have is a BS in political science, but even I know better than that.

I am not sure of their platform...but American citizens are speaking out against the CHICAGO STYLE politics. The closed door schemes. The buying of votes. Even the people of Nebraska are now saying not so fast...with their Senator. They must have some compassion for the rest of the American people. After last nights win...the message was SENT. I hope that some Democrats see that election 2010....will see them packing their bags if they stand with Obama and not the ones that got them elected. Hey now I think that pick-up driving guy should run for Prsident...he'll have as much time in the Senate as Obama did. SCOTT/SARAH......2013.... emoUSA

Obstrufication is not a platform. The infighting amongst them will lead to lots of pork barreling, while national issues will just stall. At least with the Contract they had clear direction.

Most people just THINK they want "change" They really don't. Change is hard. "Change" is like quitting smoking. This President ran, and was elected on a "change" platform, and has started his Presidency doing what he said he would do ie Healthcare, Stimulus, Gitmo, Iraq/Afganistan. Most don't have the stomach or testicular fortitude to what is necessary for "Change" I'm referring here to the so-called Independent voters who are acting shocked, surprised and appalled that this President would do what he said in the campaign. Spur has pointed out how Dems and Repubs are pretty much split equally, neither with a majority of the population, while so-called Independents actually tip the scales one way or the other. Why are they so quick to bail? Did they not believe him when said he would totally reform healthcare, close gitmo, stop torturing, fund stem cell research, run huge deficits at first while stimulating the economy to recover? I can understand why hardcore Republicans hope this President fails (it's their only hope to regain power). I am a bit puzzled why the so-called independents (most of which voted for Obama and Democrats in 08) are so quick to bail. Is CHANGE too hard?

This might be off subject but do we have any Sarah palin fans? Do you really think she could be the next republican candidate for president?

She's really Hot!

Sarah palin is an perfect example of Hollywood politics. She is hot though! Mccain thought she would make nice face for his campaign. Ratings went up at first, then everyone realized she was a fake. Republicans need someone that is more than an face. Get someone who knows how to budget.

outcaster, very nice point about change being hard. Washington doesn't do the hard things very well. Not many real leaders up there anymore. The president can do very little on his own. It takes a coalition of D & R to get things done, and there is no incentive for either to cooperate. That may be changing with independants now controlling elections. The next two targets for the tea party independants are both republican, Sen. Bob Bennett - Utah & FL Gov. Charlie Christ. I hope the result will be that the parties will start working together to get the things they can agree on done.

Change was Obama's speech, but he did NOT live up to what he preached. You've got to remember, everything he said was and is on tape. He just flat out lied on 26 of his 35 promises, and he ain't through yet.
Republicans got in because everyone was fed up with spending, and they did just what the Democrats were doing, SPENDING. so everyone voted them out, and now it's coming around again.
The American people have to elect people with principal, the principal is ( The Constituion of The United States of America) and make them stick to it. Before anyone can make an argument, read this document first.
You cannot force people to give you money (taxes) and give it to people that do not work, and expect the working class to be happy.
People will stand in line for movie/concert tickets, or welfare, but not to vote.
Pick the RIGHT canidate and check them out and then stand up for them and yourself and voice your opinion, with facts. Without the true facts, you're just as stupid as the drunk in the bar, and it's hard to Argue With Idiots.

Wow! Stupid as a drunk in a bar.... Now that is funny emoLaugh I'm sure You have all the true facts, and the rest of us are idiots.

Welfare, what percentage of the annual budget is spent on welfare? It seems to be a big issue for Republican party.

Giving money to people sitting on their butts and giving money to the rich that don't deserve it. Where is the middle class?
