So I need some input I've tried using a medium action rod for my spinning rod but my hookup ratio is way off I lose more that I land so I'm thinking maybe a med. Heavy for my spinning reel so my question is who makes a good one last rod was duckett ghost series but it was super flimsy btw this is for fishing light tackle for bass any help would be appreciated

I've got a MH in 7'6" and a MH in 7' both Hammer Rods and I love em and they're great for all applications I've needed them for. Dropshot, Wacky, Texas Rig,and light Shakey Head.

If you want to keep your medium rod just switch to braid to floro leader. Gives you a better hookset and once you learn to tie a few connection knots you are ready to go. I think a MH is a little too stiff for a shaky head unless you are fishing some of the heavier (5/16 oz or more) ones.

I have been using a 7' HMX med with fast tip seems to do the job nicely. Don't remember exactly but I think it was not too expensive at Sportsmans.

I ended up getting a medium heavy duckett green ghost series from sportsman's thanks for the info guys very appreciative
