Well, since my son has been working, he has ordered the last rod he says he will need for a while. He now has 4- micromatic duckett rods. Said he is hoping for reel money at CHRISTmas. So I get hand me downs. That will give me a couple duckett ghost with lews reels and a bass pro rod with a bass pro tourney reel.

The tourney Pro from Lews is hard to beat, you get a very good real. I have Tatula's that I really like, I have a couple Zillions, one I love (the older silver one) and one that is just ok (the souped up Tatula Zillion) and I got one of the SV's from Daiwa to throw things on light line and that this is amazing in how it throws, but they are very pricey, I got my at the FLW show at Hunstville this year for a great price.
As for rods I know I own too many, but the Kistler Mag 2's are really the best I have. They are light, and the most sensitive I have ever used. Also like Dobyns, and the Tatula rods are pretty good for moving baits. I have a few Duckett's, 2 CB rods the 7-6 and 7-11 and the extra heavy 7-6. They are good rods, the guides are too small I think, and they really should put lure weights etc on them because I know several people that have broken them using too much weight. As for spinning reels, all are daiwa and my rods are Loomis Shakey head med-mags, great rods, not too heavy, but they are way more expensive than they should be. One is a loaner from my dad, one I bought at a major discount, but they have traditional sized guides and that is good for the braid mainline to floro knots.

I've been fishing Duckett MMP's for a few years and have never had any issues. Just recently had a line guide insert come out of an older rod that was no longer under warranty. I called Duckett and they mailed me a new insert free of charge. I originally paired them with Revo reels. Then Cabelas had a great Black Friday deal on the Lew's Tournament Pro for $115, last year. I bought one and man... I was so impressed with it's quality, smoothness, and performance that I've since bought another Tournament Pro and 2 Pro G reels. I have owned and fished with several different big brand name reels that range in price from $150-$250 and both the Lew's TP and Pro G reels put all the competitors in the dust, in my opinion. I still use the Revos often; but only because, I haven't bought any more of the Pro G's yet. I really can't wait to get my hands on the newest model reel that Lew's unveiled at ICAST a few months ago, the Team Lew's Custom Pro. Hopefully, Santa has one or two of those, in his red velvet bag, with my name on them!

Fell in love with the first generation Revo Premiers years ago. I buy them anywhere I can find them. Although I have 2 Lews, I'm not particularly impressed with them. The best value I've found recently are the Pflueger Supremes. For $99.00 you get a pretty smooth reel that will cast lighter lures very well.

I was turned on to Lew's from this forum and can say I was impressed. The Laser MG reels can't be beat for the price IMO.
