If you look at how Obama talks, you'd think he learned it from Rev Wright, who he listened to for 20 years.
I've been to a black church before, and believe me Brother, they preach politics.
QUOTE]

Well Eyeman2, I've been in a black church all my life. My mother, Father, & oldest Brother are ordained Ministers. I don't know what "black" church you've been to brother, but we're not all like Rev. Wright. Don't be so stereotypical. emoBang

I'm Not sterotypical..I've been in a black church several times, not Rev Wrights either and they preached politics.
Not like Obama, I heard what the preacher said.

"REALITY: Banks take no risks in issuing student loans, which are federally insured. "

sounds like a hell of a risk to me why dont you just loan the money and see how good you feel about a near bankrupt government paying you back when you are the last guy on the totem pole. No offense but libs tend not to look at the big picture very often. That looks great on paper but just like all the doctors i know only get about 2/3 of the money they are owed by medicare/medicade from the government. The words "federally insured"=JOKE. The general principles that liberalism is based on cannot stand up to anything factual, period. I am 27 years old and could win a debate with any liberal democrat based on facts and learning from that past. The principles of liberalism are defeated by common sense in most cases which astonishes me how so many "intellectuals" subscribe to this nonsense. And to the point above mentioned here is a good example, if i loaned $100 to Bill Gates that IS a RISK all the way up to the point when i get my money back! COMMON SENSE emoBang I disagreed with President Bush as much as any president in my lifetime as well so IMO it has nothing to do with the D or R next to their name its the corruption they ALL possess that is our demise!

P S. Rev Al Sharpton & Jessie Jackson, the famous shake down artist, do they preach politics in their pulpits? I think there is a political overtone in several of Martin Luther King's speeches.

I'm not going to have a race to religion discusion. If you think you have the black race figured out from the people that the media put in the forefront then your LOST! What if I thought that all "white" churhes were being led by men like Wiley Drake?!?
PS. That's what stereotypical means.

1960's & 70's?!?!? Alot has changed in the world since then...at least I thought it had. Man that was 40 years ago.

... I'd simply like to ask a question as to why Sharpton or Jackson either one are even referred to as "Reverend or Minister"? I have never heard either of them read or quote scripture, ever!? All they talk about is racism or politics, period! And it doesn't matter if their tirade is factual or not. Sharpton has made a complete dumb ass out of himself three times on unfounded or completely fabricated charges! And let's not forget about Jesse's love child out in California! Minister's ... ? I don't think so! Did little Jesse ever finalize his deal and buy the office up there in Illinois? I have three Ministers in my immediate family. I'm the Hearthen representative of the family {my Grand Ma always pronounce the "r"}, and holding up my end I might add, but I've attended many Black Churches, and basically the only Black Ministers that I've ever heard that DIDN'T preach politics, block voting for Blacks, or Democrats, or simply soliciting money, was T.D. Jakes and E.V Hill! The both of them are / were great! Mr. Hill has passed. I can name you three, large Black Churches here in good 'ol Chattanooga that regularly discuss the political issues from the pulpit, not including Bernie Miller's Church, and he's running for City Council now! I'm not trying to turn this into a racial issue or high jack the thread but Black Churches, and their Ministers as a group are very political!

So are white churches and their ministers, Falwell, Robertson and on and on.

So what is your point?

... Bfish, you are right! Falwell, Robertson and that ol Pinky haired women! I try my best to not see any of them or listen, but my whole family thinks they're great, just like "Tony the Tiger"! They are more about the money though I think. But, you are right, they're right in the middle of it too!

Not all of them. This is my point and I can't see why it's so far fetched for some of you guys. I'm not defending Jackson or Sharpton. They are media figures and media attention is in the forefront for them. Politics=media. And for that matter... big churches=big business. I don't and have never attended a church with thousands of members & a million dollar cathedral and don't know but about three people who have. I'm not arguing the fact that SOME black churches preach politics. SOME white churches do too. My point from the beginning was that ALL ARE NOT THAT WAY. To form an opinion about one or a group of people, and then decide that every body else that looks like them or holds the same title as them to be the same is stereotyping. That's one of the reasons why there is still a color line in this country today. And Yes, there are black people that do the same thing. Either way it's just not right. But...these are your opinions and I respect that. I just hope that everytime you see a young black man you don't consider him to be just like some dumb a___ you saw on the news last night.

I think Rush is a reincarnated P T Barnum.
All suckers ain't bottom feeders. And if you don't believe in reincarnation, you'd better throw the King James version out the door.
If it has a 800 number, better to leave it be.
Everyone believes in something, even Obama, and he is going to hurt us all.
