Took a day off and headed down to north guntersville...early topwater was a bust, no blowups and very little activity near the grass lines......... started working laydowns with a jig and brush hog and finally found a pattern... cauught 12 with best 5 going close to 10lbs,,all hits were very light in fact most time you just seen your line move off...On that note i would like to say i am not much of a line watcher when fishing jigs or plastics but i seen something that has convinced me i need to pay more attention... As I was easing down the bank I seen a 2lber sitting in about a foot of water on a clean clay bank.. i pitched a jig up on the bank and eased it into the water just behind the bass and gave it a few small hops. to my amazment the fish picked up the jig and swam off with it and i never felt the first tap... makes me wonder how many times i have had fish on and they spit it out before I realized what was going on... made a believer out of me.. beautiful day all to myself need to get out more.
