Chattanooga Fishing Forum

Help Support Chattanooga Fishing Forum:

usually fish watts bar but will gladly switch that to the bay. 3 fish 7 till 2 take off from HB state park can pull 4 to 5 more boats away from the bar if this starts up. they probably wouldnt change though if they have to drive from cleveland to cfp. if this tx starts up send me the details . THANKS

Howabout 2 fish less stress on the fish or one then you dont have a big fish. I like 5

everyone is going to the 3 fish limit. fish a work tx went to 3 fish this year have had great results with it have not had a dead fish weighed in this year . just my opinion .

This is how I did the pay outs for the touney that I held before!

If there was 1-10 boats I paid 1 place. Winner take all.
If there was 11-20 boats I paid 2 places. I split the $10 per person as $6 to first and $4 to second
If there was 21-30 boats I paid 3 places I split the $10 per person as $5 to first $3 to second and $2 to third
If there was 31-40 boats I paid 4 places. Splitting the money as $4 to first $3 to second $2 to third and $1 to fourth

If the entry fee is $30.00 per boat $20 goes to the total weight then $10 goes to big fish, and I also had an optional $5 small mouth pot.
IF there is a single boat he would pay $15.00 and the the optional $5 small mouth

Make three bass and one junk fish that would make it real interesting that way any one has a chance just a thought. emoScratch

Just my pref but I like every 8 boats paids. Thats cool though and with a 3 fish limit...I think you'd have a great turnout and alot closer weights in the in 6 hours of fishing. Sounds good!

i think a 3 fish limit tx is garbage. i don't like loosing or getting knocked out of the money because someone got lucky and caught a big fish. if your gonna do i 3 fish limit have a 3 hour tx. there will be more boats with a 5 fish limit

This much is for certain.
First tournament will be Saturday night June the 13th.
The first one will be out of Harrison Bay (If there is enough interest maybe we could rotate it to other ramps ie. Chester Frost)
The tournament will be held from 7 PM until 2 AM
You must be in the no wake zone by 2 AM
No culling dead fish. 1 dead may be weighed in with a 4 oz penalty.

I fished a tournament a few weeks ago had 12 lbs would have got 3rd ( and about a $100), but did not get to weigh my fish because they had quit weighing in fish. Needless to say I was frustrated. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN. The last call for weigh in will be 2:30 (obviously this would be subject to change with the number of boats). If you have fish let me or one of the other guys know, and we will wait for you to weigh your fish. I know it can get crowded at the ramp with everyone trying to get their boats out, so everybody be patient, I want everybody to get their fish weighed. Please be sure to check in so we know everybody got off the water safe. I will make sure that everyone has several cell numbers in case of trouble.

As far as blast off, it is not a real problem with 10 or 15 boats. However when you get 30 boats trying to make the turn up river, it gets kinda scary. What do you guys think about a staged blast off or doing it in two flights ( with a time adjustment of course)? I just don't want to get somebody hurt.

I like the ideas on payout and we need to decide something, so keep them coming. The biggest question seems to be 3 or 5 fish. I like 5 personally, but I don't really care. I think we need to be concerned about stressing the fish and keeping them alive. I thought as the weather got hotter we could downsize to 3 but initially start out with 5. But, like I said, I don't really care. As I said, I would like to get this finalized by this weekend so please give your input. I want us to have a successful event and not one everybody complains about. Please feel free to PM me. If you want to talk versus type PM me and I will send you my number. Thanks, Boone

I like the 3 fish limit and rotating the ramps because I will travel by boat instead of driving over to HBSP and it would be fair on both sides of the river. I would not be able to fish all of them because of my work rotating shift but will try to make it to the ones I can. emoThumbsup

I have been wanting to fish some at night so this would be great for me. I like the 3 fish limit better than 5

There will be a tournament on June the 13th, that is the second Saturday in June. I am getting with Terry tomorrow and we are going to finalize the format. Our plans so far are to have the event every other Saturday. However, you guys keep coming and I would say we could do it every weekend. Since the CBA will be the first Saturday, we are planning on having it on 13th and the 20th. I will have the format and rules posted by this weekend. If you are planning on coming , please try to PM me so I can try and plan ahead. I really appreciate the response this thread is getting. I think we can have a great event that will be fun for all. Thanks, Boone
