If you cannot park your new ride inside and out of the weather, put an opaque tarp over it temporarily. You can run a rope from the bow, up over the seats and to the top of the engine. That will give your tarp a "tent" shaped ridge line to help rain water run off. This will protect the boat until you get a suitable cover for it. Way better to store it inside, though.

Congrats on the ride and stay in the channels until you learn the water!

Whats a good place out of the wind to mess around with the boat to familiarize myself with her? Wolftever creek? The Wolftever ramp is the closest one to my house.

Nice looking boat. Wolftever creek is a good place to get out of the wind but also shallow. Just be careful.

Wolftever as mentioned is a good place however I would not go back into the creeks due to water level being low right now. The other issue is there are a lot of crappie anglers fishing it right now. Your better bet would be to go out on a calm day and say out in the main lake between the buoys. With the water coming up the sand bars and areas you could get into trouble are becoming less and less. emoAngel Jmax

That looks Like a nice first rig. I you need some help fishing that thing let me know. I'm between boats right now but i have a truck for pulling and launching. LOL All jokes aside I would be happy to go help you launch it and take it out one evening. I work about 10 minutes from Wolftever so I imagine i would be pretty close to you after work one day.

WT is a good place but more than anything Id suggest finding one of the guys with a similar setup to ride a bunch with you.

Id just get a shop manual
For the motor. Well worth the money for people who like to do it themselves. Ebay or iboats.com has some therearea few variations and some seem better than others. There wont be one for your specific motor but one will include yours and other hp motors. It will define variations in yours though.
