In effort to keep the fishing discusion on this site up figured id post this

we all know they are great baits so share how you like to fish them and in what situations and share any secrets you might have about them

Also what brand do you prefer to use.. and hook type and wieght type if any

I like to use with a 1/16 tungsten slip sinker and fish them texas rigged is where i have had my most luck.. They seem to do best for me over grass beds or around blowdowns.. I have caught some C-rig and dropshoting also but just about always T-Rig them. For hook I usually use a 2/0 EWG hook but not the superline hook as i think it adds to much weight and effects the fall rate.. As far as brand Im torn between Yamamotto, Yum Dingers and the new Strike King Ocho.. The Ocho is the most durable for me , the Yamamotto seems to catch fish always and the Yum work very well and are the best bang for the buck.. I like anything with green pumpkin or watermelon/red havent really tried any other colors.. I havent been fishing Senkos that long but they are fun to fish and usually produce I guess the only downfall is one fish or one good strike and miss and they are usually trashed.. But that doesnt bother you as bad as when you are waxing some fish.. I want to get into wacky rigging them more next year as it looks like a good way to fish them and as far as that goes has anyone used one of them O ring tools made to wacky rig i hear they make the senkos last longer

No weight around grass and blow downs on a 5/0 EWG hook. I like the 7 inch ocho best and yum dinger second.

I use a lot of different brands but Strike King and Tiki have become my favorites. Tiki for the color selection, and SK for toughness.

I only fish them unweighted, wacky style on braid. Around the edge of grass, holes in grass, docks, stumps, laydowns and any other cover available when the bite is tough and you need a slow quiet vertical presentation. When fishing deeper water I inserta small finishing nail to each end of the worm to keep it balanced and give it a faster fall, twitching the rod as it falls.

I use a small Gamakatsu weedless wacky hook.

i fish senko type baits and usually have them t rigged weightless. If not then i fish them wacky but they hang up easier. I personally like the tiki sticks b/c they offer a plumper dinner and the way i see it if I'm gonna throw a 5 in senko then I will just use the tikis sometimes I use the little 4 in yamamoto senkos

They're not made of gold but they're worth their weight in it. Nothing comes close to the original Senko. Keep fishing those knock-offs boys. Leaves more fish for me.

i have caught more fish on the senko and second would be yum dingers.i usually rig them weight-less unless its windy than i will add a 1/16 oz weight and throw them around grass, stumps and laydowns.my favorite color for the senko is greenpumkin and for the yum dingers i use watermelon red in low light conditions and watermelon on sunny days.
