Mike and I haven't fished together in a while, so decided to hit the lake around 7. Got to our first spot around 7:30 and started shooting a dock, didn't take long and we boated 13. Put some keepers in the livewell for our buddy Nick Long and headed to our next spot. Next we fished a bluff and put several more in the livewell. Moved to our next stop and started smashing them again, put several more in the well, and we were approaching our 30 fish limit, at this point we are up to 60 crappie for the day. We managed a bunch of white and yellow bass early on as well. Several bluegill and a few spots wanted to play as well. Moved to another dock and started shooting there, smashed them here as well, now we have our limit for Nick. Moved on to some offshore cover and caught a few but the wind started picking up and it was hard to stay on the deep brush. Mike did boat 2 fish at this spot as well our biggest of the day at 16". Moved back to south to another dock and started whacking them there. We already had our limit so the majority of the day it was measure and chunk, no culling. Moved over to another dock and some cover next to it and killed them there as well. We set our goal at 100, after fishing till around 12:45 we had boated 101 crappie. The wind was picking up, so we decided to head back to CFP and get out of the wind and finish the day. In a 30 minute span on our last dock, we boated 50 more crappie, and finished with 151 crappie with 79 keepers. Fish were caught shooting docks on 2-12 ct, with 1/32 panfish assassasins and bg shad. Colors albino shad, money milk, outlaw special, and glacier. When the wind picked up had to switch to 1/16 for shooting. Off shore structure produced fish with same colors but 1/16 and 12-16 ct. Was a great day on the water with a good bud! I can assure you the crappie fishing is picking up big time, and expect some big weights at the next Chattanooga Crappie Club tournament! Come fish with us!
