lots of good info and I appreciate the information ...it seems that there is no preference on the shape of the jig head and most people use a rounded jig head

The magnum spot removers have a good heavy hook. Throw the 1/4 oz in grass or shallow, 3/8 oz in deeper water. Magnum trick worm is all you need on this lake

Most people that know me know i'm a shakey head fishermen. How good is a different story! I use Shakey head brand hooks.I fish 1/8, 3/16 and a1/4 but probably 85% of the time I use 1/8. They cosy me about $8.00 for 25 the best I recall but I normally get several. Probably 85% of my fish over the past 6-7 years have been caught on a shaky head. My biggest fish on one was 10.5 pounds. I throw mine on a 7' spinning rod with 8 lb. FC. I throw mainly one thing a Zoom Ultra Vibe worm. It works for me. I hsd know less than 75 on it Thursday.

Shakey Head is probably my go-to bait half the time. The only tip I have for people who say they have trouble catching fish with them is that it seems to me some days at least 1/2 my fish come from watching my line start drifting to the left or right. The bass just kind of hijacks it without a thump. Also those fish seem to be the larger ones.
I also use the magnum Trick worm.

My experience on Chick is limited, but twice we have caught fish pretty well on a green pumpkin Mag Finesse worm on a 3/16th oz head. With those thicker worms I like a EWG jighead because I found that you miss more fish with the standard hooks on those thick worms. I love the Owner ultra heads, but also use the Spot Remover heads and the Gama Skip gap heads. I think the EWG shakeys I am using now are secret lures ones, they have a football head and that EWG hook seems to get the fish most times. I also like the MMIII Roboworms on a standard shakey head hook. Green Pumpkin in clearer water or some shade of green, and in the more dirty water I go with purple most times. As someone else said many of the good bites are where the fish just swims off with the worm without feeling anything. I like 16 to 20 pound braid to a 15 lb floro leader for Chick and I fish them on a spinning rod. I will fish 3/16th about 90 percent of the time, but I will go lighter if it is dead calm or heaver if windy. For the bigger worms on the ledges use a weight you can keep in contact with. For the ledges I will use a baitcaster with 15 lb floro most times and for the heaver heads I like either a football head or a stand-up style not just a roundhead.

Try a little of everything. You never know what the fish want. Last night we had to dead stick for a while. Then to get them going again we super slowly reeled them. Seriously just work it like a texas rig and you will get the any of it.
