That act would no more represent the Christian faith than terrorists represent he Muslim faith.
Will fuel the flames for the terrorists.

I just want to know where the liberals are to stand up for this guy's right to do this.

'Bout what I figured. They and their double standard are nowhere to be found.

There is no question that the Dove World Outreach Centre (such a peaceful and Christ like sounding name),has the right to burn the Quran, just as the Westboro Baptist Church has the right to protest near a fallen soldiers funeral. The difference in this situation, and building a Mosque in Manhattan or Murfeesboro, TN, is that some are trying to deny them their Constitutional rights, thru intimidation and zoning laws. But the denial of those rights seems to be just fine by you. So tell me about that double standard thing again? emoScratch You seem to be the one with the double standard here, not those godless liberals.

I have no double standard now or ever. I never once said ANYONE should be denied any rights. I said the mosques were a slap in the face to Americans.
You sir on the other hand did not take up for the rights of the church wanting to burn the koran until I called you out on it. Your response here is totally predictable.

Has anyone on here ever read the Koran ??? ... Scanned it and read exerpts ??? ... Had one in your hand ??? ... Ever actually seen one ??? ... Are you talking about something you know nothing of ???

It does not matter what you think, the law of the land says he can do it if he wants to, if he has a burning permit.
If you dispute the law then you dispute the Constitution of the US.
Is it moral or right, only the person doing it has the right to make the call. Personaly, I don't care. If you can't take the heat, don't burn Our Flag.
Are We becoming too political correct, you bet your boots we are and it's because of what the Press puts into you head. Think for yourself and go according to the law, and moral justice.
Am I supposed to feel bad because I played Cowboys and Indians when I was 6 years old, don't think so. Do I make some Indians mad at me, I don't care. It's what we did and that's what we were taught at government schools, and what we saw at the picture shows, (Capital,State, Rogers,Tivoli,Rialto and Dixie) now I'm grown and old, I don't think I could play the game today, bedisdes who would be caught dead riding a plastic swisher broom around the yard, with an attached dust pan.

Well stated Eyeman On your position on burning anything.
I do not ride a swisher, I'm bigtime now. I have a push broom attached to my Radio Flyer wagon.

Interesting. Its hard to hide a hypocrite.

News report this morning:

"If he's listening, I hope he understands that what he's proposing to do is completely contrary to our values as Americans," Obama said. "That this country has been built on the notion of freedom and religious tolerance."

"And as a very practical matter, I just want him to understand that this stunt that he is talking about pulling could greatly endanger our young men and women who are in uniform"

"Obama has gotten caught up in the burgeoning controversy surrounding the practice of Islam in America, saying at one point that he believed that Muslims had a right to build a mosque near the site of the Sept. 11 terror attacks in New York City."

You CANNOT possibly be for one, and against the other. Its the exact same issue. Just because its legal doesnt make it right to do.
I hope this loon in FL doesnt do it, I also hope the "shrine to the terrorists" in NY doesnt happen. The mosque WILL endanger more American lives, but hey, its legal......

Are you freakin kidding me? The Rights of the Dove Global Outreach Centre were never in question, and no-one needed to be "called out" to defend them..... except that you felt the need to. If anyone did challenge the Church's rights here, the ACLU would have papers filed in court before the sun goes down. Cmon Cheez, I wanna see you type it. "I support the Religious freedoms of Muslim Americans to build a Islamic Center/Mosque anywhere they want on Manhattan in NYC, and also do not condone any threats of harm to them, and oppose any and all backdoor zoning law changes that could be enacted to prevent its construction, and will vigorously oppose anyone who does so".

Why was Dome of the Rock built where it is? It signifies the defeat of Christians. Built on Christians most Holy ground. In other words, check-mate. That's the reason the Muslims want to build near 911 site.
Korans last chapter tells all who do not believe are infidels and should be killed. Peacefull? don't think so.
It's not a religion, it's a way of life, and it's not good in America's eyes, as we were founded on Christian principals, and all are equal, to live, think and persue, as long as it is not against the law of the land, The Constituion and Decleraction of Independence.

Eyeman2 - 9/9/2010 2:42 PM Korans last chapter tells all who do not believe are infidels and should be killed.

I dont have this so called Koran. Is this online somewhere? I want to read this for myself.

i don't plan on burning one and i agree that it should not be done but then again not sure i ever thought beheading Daniel Pearl was a good idea either!

What bothers me is that we as Americans are expected to overlook that there are radicals in every religion and just say "oh well" when someone is beheaded or dies due to some act of terrorism in the name of Islam.

But some extreme right wing nut burns a book and it causes an all out holy war.

The guy says he is going to cancle the book burning and will meet with the Imam of the mosque being built at the 9/11 site. I wondered what this guy had up his sleeve!

I can not wait to see how this turns out. So ... A deal may be in the works to do a trade off. No Mosque near GroundZeroin exchange for not burning the Koran. Who are they Frigging kidding ??? If that Muslim makes a deal with that Infidel Devil from Floridahe will be in violation of the laws he is sworn to live by.His own people would burn him and drag his azz through the streets. To back down to an infidel,I want to see this happen. That is not the way it is done. You must riot and televise it throughout the world, burn the Bible, burn the US flag, Burn the likeness of the Infidel, Bullyand scare the hell out of people in Americaso they will let you have your way. As I see it, itisthe normal expected thingfor Muslims to behead, burn and drag infidels through the streets but God forbid if I should even think ofdestroying a copy ofa Muslim law book. What a load of >tihS<.... My knees are quivering.

None of this crap that is going on has anything to do with eitherreligeon. It is about freedom of expressed opinions (Expression).

How about that, Right again! - Late news reportsare now reporting that The Mosque will bebuilt as planned and that Muslims do not barter deals. They obviously had some promises earlier today. In fact they had a Muslimspokesman on national news earlier today claiming to have reached a deal with Pastor Jones. It was good enough that Jones stated that he would change his plans and now not burn the Koran. Joneswas planning on going to New York to sealthe deal.

I have to give credit where credit is due. The Muslims did a great job of setting up Pastor Jones and making him look like a fool. Now that was a plan. Another win over the Damned infidel devil Americans.. I wonder why we are not seeing the rejoicing in the streets in Pakistan over this defeat. Maybe that just might be too much for the Americans to stand.

As I indicated in my earlier post ... Duh!!!

I'm not a radical, abusive, violent or mean person I don't think - at least I don't think I am and I really try hard not to be. This guy has the right to do what he is saying he wants to do by our Constitution and maybe frustration is driving him, who knows, that's for him to figure out. I go back to my first sentence and say this...If I saw someone, no matter what race, burning OUR flag or OUR Bible and it was 20 years ago, I'd do my best to whip their you know what to a pulp. Today, I'd most likely just shoot the SOB and take my chances with what came later cause a man's gotta know his limitations after he gets a little older I reckon' . emoGeezer. If I, and I'm most likely not alone, feel this way as rational and accountable beings, would react this way, then what are we going to get for a reaction from a bunch of radical animals?? And for what? So this guy can burn a book and get a lot of primetime TV??? I would not want to risk the chance that this incident could in anyway fuel a fire that could hurt our youngin's or family over in the sand today. Sure would not want to fuel another attack. I don't think we should be scared of anyone at anytime, but at the same time I don't think we should be stupid either. Just my opinion.....Jim emoUSA

If I believed these people HAD this right I would support them. I look at this so called "right" just like someone yelling fire in a crowded theater. If someone's actions incite a riot they have crossed the line between having a right and abusing that right. Just like the child porno guys that you support. They cross the freedom of speech line. Before the ACLU came along with their warped ideas of freedoms these type discussions would never have come up.

BTW NO I am NOT "freakin kidding you"

One problem with your statement...... You DO NOT have the Right to yell "fire" in a crowded theater (if there is no fire) for obvious reasons. So your theory is flawed from the very start. Help me out here.... are you saying?..... If me exercising my "rights" pisses you off, or makes you un-comfortable or incites you to riot, then I am abusing MY rights? The sad thing is cheez..... You are NOT "freakin" kidding me. That's how you view the world. Just took me a little while to get it out of ya
