Six Pound nine ounce spot

Got a call from a friend today - sayd Bass Pro Shop in Atlanta had a 6-9 spot in a holding tank. Will put it on display after quarrentine. It was caught at Jackson Lake - the one I report on here in middle Georgia and the fisherman carred it to them.

I can't imagine a 6 1/2lb spot at the end of my line...but I would love to experience it. I've caught a few in the 3's and one at 4 and they were like reeling in a bulldog on dental floss.

Impressive spot. 3 lbers. are a fight on decent sized tackle......I can't imagine a spot twice that size! Wow!

Thats a cool deal with BPS. He will get a replica and expenses for delivery. That fish may inspire a young one to get into fishing instead of something "else".

Thanks for the report. It will be neat to see the pic of that one. What is the state record spot? I know that the world record is or used to be from GA.
