Had 13 boats with 31 people come out despite the cold weather this morning. Had several good stringers of fish weighed in.
1st place and $330 went to Miller Robinson (Dixie Boy), Heath Smith, and Joe Wilson- 13.76 lbs.
2nd place and $150 went to Shane Price, Micheal Neal and Tim Morgan- 12.50lbs.
Brad and Mark (SoddyBlue) brought in 10.75lbs
Justin and Ray Brady with 10.10lbs.
Big Fish was a split pot with me and Dennis Newby and Brad and Mark both having one at 1.76lbs.

Thanks to everybody that came to fish with us today, to Dayton Boat Dock for letting us sign up there this morning and Todd at Bluewater for letting us put in there. Also thanks to the boys at Soddy Custom Bait and Tackle for helping spread the word. Oh and Scott Kelley, with Riverfront Outdoors and Shooters Fun Center for printing and designing the flyers. Dixie Boy if you boys need any resumes made Scott can hook you up. I think it went pretty well for the first one. I'll probaly try to do another about November or so. If anybody seen anything that could be done different let me know.

Cold Cold day to fish. The wind was bad from the start. We ran down river and fished docks to much wind to fish any drops. The fish we had came off docks in less than 8 feet of water, don't know why they were shallow with the water temps 39-40. Great job to the first and second place boats. emoEek

i came in second. the wind was terrible. just a slow and steady bite all day. we fished up the river mostly in sloughs to stay out of the wind and the current. are they ever going to let it up? one of my partners caught a monster carp on 4lb test that we had to spend thirty minutes chasing around on the trolling motor.

To bad the weather was like that. I talked to alot of people today that said they had all intention of coming until about Friday night. Maybe next time we can catch it to where we can atleast get in the 40's.

Congratulations to Dixie Boy and partners and to the others who braved the cold winds, current, and time of year to compete in the tx. Thanks, Mark for the fishing report that you gave. emoGeezer

Look at it like oh the Bassmasters Classic..lol...If it was to come around once a month that would take all the excitement away...So I'm gonna say once a year. Proably about end of November??First of December that way we got a better shot at getting in the 40's or 50's which would be a better turn out. Gonna have to come up with a Slab-Fest committee though, if there had of been a few more boats it would have proably been more than I can handle by myself.

We need to get a tournament series going like the CBA for us crappie fisherman, If you need help just let me know I am in. Would of fished the slabfest but had some family issues come up.
