Well, FA and MB, I wasn't gonna get on him but it is obvious the batteries are dead in his calculator!! I hope Rob is the one counting em before ya'll weigh em!!

i agree with churly on this one grass good slot bad
how many people that reponded to this thread actually keep fish? this is just a simple question here folks
myself i have not kept a mess of fish from any lake(black bass species) in at least 25 yrs.
i do fish quite a few tourneys. when the lenth on fish was 12 inches on the chick every body could catch a limit and what did they weigh? 6-7# (after the grass kill) raised the limit to 15 in tough for a year or two
but look at us now. takes 14-20# to make the top 15 in most of the txs around here.takes 10-14on a three fish tourney looks like the chick is doing well
IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT.
heres another tidbit for thought. 18 inch lenth on smallies from nasty to watts bar lower side 1per anything above limit of five explain that . cant tell me its helped smallies above chick i don,t catch any more now than i did 15 yrs. ago
it is not my intent to step on anyones toes just my op and the water in my head rattling around

Hey FA, and MB, I was checking to see if anybody was actually reading or not........emoRedface

wormhook i agree with you its been taken 11lbs to 15lbs to win most of the dogfights.I myself think if alot of your fun fishers that have nothing else to do but go and catch 10 to 30 aday could take a break sometime they might get to see what good fishing would be.:)

Guys this thread is about a slot limit & or why the Chick does or doesn't need one. And with all the three & one half & four pounders around at every dogfight. I don't see what would be gained from one. One guy is reading about what some Dr. wrote & I'm on the water 5-7 days a week. Plus weighing in 75-100 bass every Thursday.I talk toalot of guys who fell the same way. Maby the Dr. needs to go fishing & get his head out of a book. Some things look real good on paper, but when you see them in front of you, well not so good. Last winter Jmax,Pointer78, Flip1up, Bbass & myself were out & talked about how good the fishing would be this year. And with at the least 6-8 fish that I know about being caught over 10Lbs. And one fish at 11.99Lbs.I don't think we were wrong. A good person to post on this thread would be Shocker (Don Hollad). If anyone knows about the fish in the lake I would say he does, seeing that it's his job to know.

Slots work fine depending on the lake! The 18'' limit for Smallmouth ( NO SLOT) sure has helped the quality in Tims. Dale Hollow 1 over 21" and 1 under 16" has turned Dale Hollow back into the lake it used to be. In Tenn. our fisheries people do a pretty good job. I love to fish Tx's but our resources are for everyone to enjoy and sometimes I think we as Tx fisherman can set better examples in helping to protect these resources.
