Gotta couple of places in mind Jon,

We'll go soon as we can

Will try to talk to you tomorrow

Cool Mutt ... Im looking forward to some smallies ... you know I caught some with Benny Hull the other day but nothing to brag about ... but we will go when we can ... if no smallies we know we can get up on some other fish ... hopefully here soon I will have a decent catfish rig

What about the smallmouth fishing below Nickajack Dam (which is quite a bit deeper than below Chicklamauga Dam), say the first 1/2 mile or maybe a mile or maybe down past the island? I've occassionally caught some over 20 inches while trolling below the dam, but I've never fished directly for them there.

You are wasting your time below the Nick, no smallies there.

Come on Doc, don't put the poor guy off like that. There are lots of great smallies in the riverine portion of Guntersville but there are few people who know how and where to fish for them. catch1 here on the forum is one of them and he catches more quality smallies than anyone that I have ever seen before. It's just tough fishing with light line and knowing where the fish stack up. The TN river is a great smallmouth fishery and that stretch of the river probably has as good or better smallie fishing than anywhere else, it's just a tough kind of fishing. If you all put your time in and use your maps and electronics you can do well there. emoAngel emoAngel emoAngel

Doc, you just can't keep all of those smallies down there to yourself!

try fishing light line c-rigged lizard below the RR bridge at Chick dam. start about 8pm or before 7 am
