I have heard from alot of people that you should soak your fish in something before you cook them.... My dad (DHaun) and I tried soaking them in some lemon juice and that made them REALLY tender and very good, but I have also heard that 7-UP and milk can be good sometimes... Any input on that?

Thanks!

Annie,

I soak my catfish in Cajun Creole Butter before I grill it... i soak it for about 20 minutes... very very good!

I like to soak mine in egg and milk. A cup of milk with a couple eggs in it. Beat them up like you are going to have scrabbled eggs. Soak it about an hour in the frig. Makes them sticky and fluffy looking. It also helps coat the fish with corn meal becuase it sticks better.emoCool Jmax

I ususally bake or broil my fish, would you still soak them?

Not in the egg and milk but it would not hurt to use the lemon juice soak. Than add Citrise Grill Mix, MMmmMMmm Good!emoBigsmile Jmax

Have to go with Jmax on this one but only if your gonna fry them. The lemon juice works good. My sister swears by the 7-up and lemon juice thing also. She mixes them together and soaks them in the fridge about an hour before cooking them.emoSmile
