Fished a couple of hours this morning. Caught fish shallow on a red rattle trap. The fish weren’t real aggressive, so I had to vary the retrieve to get them to bite. Even then they didn’t hit it hard like they usually do. I tried a few casts with a shakey head, but got no bites. All fish were in the 2-3 lb range and we’re caught in less than 3 fow.

Try dragging it a little, then reel, drag and repeat until the water warms up.
What he said. Let it hit the bottom. Lift it a little off the bottom, let it fall back to bottom. Repeat. Every once in a while give it a slight shake on the way up of the bottom. Oh hang on to your rod. Just sayin! lol
