OK, got more of the story.

Dude bought his truck 5 weeks ago, $62K
He was launching a jetski to test drive it. Got the ski into the water, went to get back in the truck and before he got into the cab it started rolling into the water.

It was located, 45' past the end of the ramp, and had floated for some time so it was actually facing away from the ramp. It was towed out from the rear, trailer attached. emoLaugh So thats why it was facing down-ramp when the pics were taken.

If any of you scavengers are interested, there is a large log chain, and two crowbars on the bottom that were lost in the recovery effort. emoLaugh emoLaugh emoLaugh

Oh man I saw the wrecker on the boat ramp when I was driving toward 58 coming from Stroker Cycles about 6 pm yesterday. I was thinking it was a repo in progress.

it is true that the E brake holds better going forward but most new vehicles now use disc brakes so they actually hold about the same in either direction the clamping force is equal unlike the old drum brakes which have a primary shoe (larger) and a secondary shoe (smaller). the disc just squeeze the rotor with force times area squared which eaquals so many pounds per sqoare inch of pad area. I wouldn't think it was an insurance job, give him the benefit of doubt, if so I wouldn't call a rollback to pull it out, I would just call it in as stolen and in 4 or 5 days when they found it, it would surely be totaled. LOL!

....NO IF WAS A FORD IT WOULD HAVE CAME OUT RUNNING.........SO THERE emoParty emoParty emoParty emoParty

certain build dates on these dodges had a problem where they would come out of park, there was a "rapid respone"{kinda like a recall but its supposed to done to the vehicle befrore its sold to a customer} to address the issue, there is actually a guy from cleveland that sued chrysler because he got ran over by his truck at a gas station

If its a new Dodge, he has 2 months from the date of purchase to do a no hassle return from what I've seen advertised. They would be getting this one back after it dried out. emoEvil
