I'm itch all over, the walls are closing in, and the window is begging me to break it and climb out of this office.

If it's at all possible, I'm gonna have to grab a rod and maybe the boat and hit the water by mid-afternoon for a few hours!

Ya'll shoulda stopped me. Motor caught fire before I could even get it in the water, melted off part of my throttle linkage, and caught zero fish, LOL!

Huh? Details please? But actually I had same thing happen in years gone by. In one case battery tipped over and a post was against aluminum side. Short somehow turned throttle cable into a heating element and as you said, melted plastic cable cover and I had to have replaced. Same thing happened another time for unknown reason?

emoSorry

I am sure it has to be due to my own faulty memory. A retired friend of mine (engineer type) did some wiring on the boat, complete with conduit and outlet boxes. I am honestly so rusty on using my boat that I'm having to figure out how to get my depth finder working again. Unfortunately this was the result of either a wrong guess, or something in the wiring has deteriorated with age. Bottom line is a am a much better youth minister than an engine/wiring person, and that sometimes leaves marks, LOL.

I'll have to figure out if I will need a whole new cable or if it's just a connector of some kind that burned off. Any boat doctor recommendations?

I get that same virus everyweek. If ever on the spur of the moment and you have just got to go, if you need a partner drop me line and we will take off. All I need is an excuse and 2 min. to hook-up or load up.
