Ok.. thanks for the support from most of you, for the rest i'm letting you in on the secrets of SW We control nothing, nobody at that store has the power to get xr50's or red eye shads, we are at the mercy of Midvale, UT (our corporate office). If you will simple ask me or one of the other guys back there what you looking for we can try to take care of you, There are now 23 other store that i can check there inventory. But it will have to be a phone order, The item will be at you house or at our store for you in about 4 days. (and most of the time there is no shipping charge) O yea always Call before making a trip out there to see if we have an item, and employees holds are just like customers 24 hours only.

I will personally vouch for Cory. He always takes time to talk with me and share his knowledge, and has always provided first class service. Keep up the good work my friend!!!

I hope Sportsmans Warehouse doesn't close but I phoned Hamiltons today and they told me they HAVE NO PLANS TO CLOSE that the buildings are for sale. Let's support them all we can.

Well for once I have to agree with Rob. I try to buy everything from Mark up at Soddy Custom Tackle. Only when they don't have something do I look elsewhere. They would order it for me then but I am too impatient.

So a minimum wage employee that isn't familiar with all the product and having an item that wasn't that high in demand at the time was backordered makes them the biggest rip off on earth? Yeah, Rbob ,I support our best local shops almost all the time, but you should give credit to a guy that started selling tackle in his Dad's liquor store and ended up as successful as he did by providing America's anglers and hunters with about everything we want in one location. There is a reason Hamilton's is a BPS affiliate. emoToast

Sportsmans got a load of goodies in today but still didnt get the good colors in the Crankbaits I wanted.. looks like Im making a trip to Soddy Tackle this weekend

Who's Rbob? emoLaugh

They're a rip-off for the reasons I mentioned - high prices, poor service, and terrible turnaround on shipping. That makes any business a rip-off. Three weeks to receive an order of Reel Grips (which, by the way, is one of the highest demanded accessories in the tackle industry ... since you didn't know) is ridiculous and my worst BPS experience ever ... the time I ordered a telescoping lure retriever and when I rec'd it I noticed that an oversize shipping charge had been added. I called them up asked why oversize shipping charges were added to a 4' lure retriever. Their reply ... "Because it EXTENDS to twelve feet." Unreal.

dragfish, you seem like a good guy and I enjoy reading your posts. You asked why they were a rip-off and I told you. That said, you're welcome to give Johnny Morris all the business your heart desires, but the place - to me - is a rip-off for the reasons listed above. I shop there every now and then, but if I do, its a desperation move on my part.

I get about 50% of my stuff from them BUT if they ever sell out of something it takes FOREVER for them to restock. Crazy. Sort of like size 10.5 shoes sell out all the time but they always have 8 and 14 in stock. If size 10.5 sells the most then make or stock more of them. Pretty simple.

Still I like the store and they have what I am looking for about 75% of the time. Course I only go there when I am looking for something I know they have. The other 25% of the time they are sold out.

geez, how in the world are they not profitable. i mean check out the gun counter or the ammo, they are always sold out.
seems obama must be the best thing in the world for the guns firearm industry sales. if any industry should be doing well right now its anyone selling guns and ammo. and who wants to be in memphis unarmed????

After the new company completes the buy out of Sportsman's Warehouse, hopefully the merchandise / inventory will start flowing and the Dept. Mgrs. here can start ordering and making there own local purchasing decisions. I know that they are frustrated with the current inventory freeze too! By the way, HAMILTON'S IS NOT CLOSING AND HASN'T BEEN SOLD! I spoke with them Friday afternoon, and they are still remodeling! said they have no intentions of selling!

This is interesting about Hamiltons. I talked with both ladies and the old man and woman down there and they said they were indeed SELLING. All of the buildings are up for sale or lease. As a matter of fact the sign in the front says ALL buildings are for sale or lease, OR they will build to suit on the property. Maybe things have changed since I talked to them a week ago, but I doubt the signs would still be up. If someone buys the buildings then I don't know if Hamiltons will have a tent set up on the lot to sell out of or not, but I would think the new buyer would put in whatever he wanted. Maybe they are just afraid business will decrease if rumor gets out they are selling. I don't see how, but I know what they told me on both occasions. BTW, I understand that they could be talking about just selling the land/buildings, and keeping Hamilton's operating. Hamiltons has sold back and forth several times in the past.

Maybe some public exposure would help as far as Sp Whs complaints or questions. You can always tune into Talk Radio 102.3 saturday mornings 6-10 am- with Tony Sanders. They always promo SW and have giveaways for callers. If I'm not wrong they have an ad on this website.
