Staying warm in below freezing temps

Only one boot ever kept my feet warm, we called them "Bunny Boots" (white) or "Mickey Mouse" (black) boots. We used them as part of the cold weather gear in the military. They were great for hunting as long as you put them on and didn't walk to far in them, had a tendency to fall a lot in the woods. I have never found anything more practical. My feet sweat way to much and polyprop socks don't even help. The best thing I found was using Seal Skinz socks (neoprene). Best thing for folks that have "sweaty" feet...wear them in a normal boot like a nice duck or a Redwing and you will be fine.

you can use hot hands and wrist bands or to keep your hands warm I do it when crappie fishing in the cold main thing is don't get to hot or you will sweat and then you in big trouble

what do you do to keep them on your wrists? I have tried this and always seem to lose the darn hot hands

Thanks guys these are great ideas and tips. Unfortunately I'm not made of cash and I know some of these materials cost a hell of a lot more than my 10 year old cotton button up camo shirt. I have a set of rocky fleece long johns that I use as a base layer. I really have a problem keeping my hands and feet warm, I'm guessing the reason for cold feet are the neoprene lined chest waders?

Check out the link I sent you. The sock liners are only $10. I can stand being cold until my feets get cold; then I'm toast! (Not toasty) emoIdea

you dont have to spend a ton of money... if i had to put money anywhere it would be in good boots and a good base layer.
